ABC Imaging Wins Historic Grand Format Printing Bus Wrap Program

April 14, 2016

Move over Democrats and Republicans: the Bud Light Party is coming to D.C. in a big way.

You've probably seen commercials from Bud Light's new election year campaign, which kicked off in February with a Super Bowl commercial starring actors Seth Rogen and Amy Schumer. The Bud Light Party ads promote inclusion and fun while parodying the bluster and hype of election season – and the next stop on the campaign trail is a fleet of 25 D.C. Metrobuses.

ABC Imaging printed the 9-foot-tall, 20-foot-wide panel ads, known as "ultra super kings." But the size of the ads isn't the only notable thing about the campaign – the grand format bus wraps will also mark the first time in 20 years that Metro has allowed advertising for alcohol anywhere in its transit system, including trains and metro stations.

Other News in Grand Format Printing: The #BlossomBus Blooms

ABC Imaging also printed and produced a colorful makeover for one of the buses on the D.C. Circulator system. The "Blossom Bus" is a 40-foot bus covered in eye-popping shades of pink green and blue, with a depiction of four cherry blossom trees in bloom on one side.

The vibrant bus will shuttle riders around D.C. on normal Circulator routes this spring, to celebrate the new National Mall route that provides direct access to the cherry blossom trees at the Tidal Basin. Those who spot the bus around town between March 20 and May 30 are eligible to win Circulator's Spot the Bus Contest on social media – for details on how to enter, check out the D.C. Circulator website.

Why Choose Grand Format Bus Wraps?

Though many advertisers are now pursuing digital campaigns, vehicle wraps are still a valuable way to get a brand in front of a huge number of people. The Outdoor Advertising Association of America (OAAA) reports that a vehicle ad can reach consumers at a much lower cost per impression than almost any other advertising method – industry experts estimate that a single vehicle wrap can be seen by up to 80,000 people in one day.
