Client Needs

Two well known museums, the Museum of the Bible and the Smithsonian National

Museum of African American History & Culture were in search of technology that

could create replicas for their historical site displays. Their goal was to use the

displays to educate visitors and provide them a bird’s eye view of the entire site.

They reached out to ABC Imaging 3D Services, because of our experience with

3D printing and our local team that could be responsive to on-site visits and the

museum’s busy schedule.

ABC Imaging Solution

Using the latest 3D printing technologies, we can print detailed architectural

models and prototypes. In addition, our digital fabrication tools, laser cutters

and CNC machines along with a variety of materials, allow us to build dynamic

and durable displays. These tools and techniques were used to develop the

following client examples:
 

The Museum of the Bible’s Khirbet Qeiyafa: ABC Imaging printed a small scale replica of the ancient fortress city of Khirbet Qeiyafa that overlooks the Elah Valley

in Israel. The 3D model was printed in a durable ABS material and is on display

in the museum’s children’s center. Children that visit can get an idea of what the

archaeological site looks like and have a better understanding of its significance

in history.

Smithsonian National Museum of African American History & Culture: ABC Imaging

printed a 3D Color Jet Printed (CJP) tactile model displaying the 1968 City of Hope, a one year exhibit commemorating the 50th anniversary of the demonstration against social and opportunity inequalities organized in DC shortly after the

death of Martin Luther King, Jr.
